To be successful in school, students need a stable, caring, and comfortable home life. The goal of a homestay program is to provide students with a home-away-from-home by placing them with families who provide a friendly, nurturing and supportive environment; encourage and take an interest in the student’s life and school activities; and enjoy sharing their lifestyle and culture with young people. These are high school aged students who will spend 5 – 10 months learning English and studying in a Newfoundland Academic Island International partner school.

Being a host family is a rewarding experience. The NAII international education program has professional staff to support host families. NAII will reimburse families monthly to have an international student live in their homes.
